Design for change: Graphic design for human rights

Small Media
Abstract:
These days there are very few aspects of running a successful human rights organisation or campaign that don't require design skills to help promote your brand and get your message across. Learn the basics of how to create effective graphic designs on your own!
About this course:
Designing something that stands out for all the right reasons and also helps your organisation get their message across isn't easy if you don't have design skills or access to a graphic designer. In this course you'll learn about the basic building blocks used to create a graphic design project, how to write a design brief and how to implement the graphic design process either by yourself or through hiring a designer. As you learn more about the design process, you'll also learn how one human rights organisation uses graphic design to effectively communicate their message by analysing their brand design decisions in more detail.
What do I learn:
We will be using a free online graphic design program to create a digital e-card about your organisation to be shared across social media, learning about the various building blocks of graphic design as we work through this project.
What do I need to know:
All you need to know is basic computer and and internet knowledge, and you are set!
